Full Moon In Gemini

Commitment Courage Capabilities Confidence

The energy of any full moon presents an opportunity to focus on gratitude, abundance, fullness and completion. As we draw near to the end of an unprecedented year, where life as we knew it changed radically last March, what can you look back on and celebrate ? That may sound strange when things have been so challenging for many. However, it is so important to celebrate your successes no matter how small, so you feel compelled and committed to courageously taking action in alignment to your most divine self. What are you grateful for in your life? What have you achieved or received that makes you feel full or complete?  This full moon in Gemini, ushering in the festive season , provides us with the perfect opportunity to celebrate, no matter how different the world around us looks.  I encourage you to write a list this full moon of things you can celebrate .

What have you brought to fruition since the Scorpio New Moon, when you set yourself clear and focused intentions?  What will you look back and feel proud of over the year, no matter how small or big, celebrate each success  Bringing all this into consciousness and sharing it with others can help you really celebrate with the energy of this Gemini Full Moon.

Moving forward into the new cycles, this full moon asks you to contemplate your grandest vision of yourself and hold that vision in your heart to bring it to fruition.

Commit to this vision with your whole heart. Have the courage to take the action required, even if you feel afraid ! If you are not feeling fear often, you may be stuck in a comfortable pattern where growth is dormant!! Then from this you can grow your capabilities. Then your confidence will go through the roof. The first step is commitment. This Full Moon, as you stand in your fullest expression of you, what will you commit to?

Gemini brings physical awareness to your shoulders, arms and hands; and energetic awareness to your heart chakra.  Green is the colour of this chakra, and many people bring the evergreen trees and leaves into their homes at this time of year with Christmas trees, holly wreaths and solstice altar decorations.  Even better if you can take some time to walk outdoors in places where the green still lingers, in parks or woodlands, on hills or moors.

Breathe deeply and feel your heart chakra expand with your feet rooted into the earth.  Open your arms out wide and feel your shoulders anchoring you into the connection with your heart.  As you inhale and expand, know that your heart is supporting you; that the energy of love is spreading out through your arms, hands and fingers.  As you exhale, lower your hands and send that love all the way down into the earth through your feet.  Making the sound of ‘YAM’ or ‘MA’ while you’re doing this will also help to activate your heart chakra vibration.

How Luna Rhythms Yoga can support you during this Gemini Full Moon:

At Luna Rhythms, our unique system of yoga integrated with the lunar cycles and solar seasons teaches techniques from the ancient yogic practices of asanapranayamamudrabandha and mantra in alignment with the energies of the day, season and cycle.

Try practising the Camel Pose, Ustrasana.  This pose really gets you feeling into the deep supportive connection between your shoulders and your heart.  In this pose, your heart centre supports the expansion out, back and down through your shoulders, while your shoulders support the opening and upward expansion of your heart.

Kneeling up with your knees hip width and your shins pressed firmly into the floor for support, lengthen your spine upwards and begin to extend it back.  Take your hands onto the back of your hips for support, or bring your fingers or hands to touch your heels in the full pose.  Allow the feeling of expansion in your throat to support your head back.  In this pose, you should be finding length and extension through the spine.  If you are feeling compression or collapse in the small of your back or in your neck, please take the supported variation or come out of the pose.

Notice the opening through your heart that continues through your shoulders and arms to the tips of your fingers.  Notice the sense of support that your shoulders are giving to your chest, allowing your heart to expand.  Breathe here, finding ease in the breath as much as possible.  And when you feel ready, ease yourself out of the pose by bringing back one hand at a time.  Move into Child’s Pose as a counter posture to release your spine.

Luna Rhythms Yoga is based on a range of different techniques from the yogic tradition that enable you to embody and integrate the monthly and daily rhythms of the lunar cycle, ensuring that your practice is always in alignment with exactly what you need when you need it.
