Full Moon in Aries

This Full Moon in Aries calls us home to Service.  What is the Service to Humanity that YOU are here, specifically, to embody?

Has this year shifted your perspective on your life? If you’ve been heeding the call to go within, perhaps you’re starting to feel the stirrings of a fundamental change trembling through your roots.  That change is both a call to action and a prompt to release.

NOW is the time to recognise your service to the world.  Take up the Full Moon’s invitation to celebrate yourself by seeing and celebrating the ways that you already ARE and already have been of service to the awakening of consciousness on the planet.  How you have used your unique gifts to share your wisdom, support others, create community.  Consider what kindnesses you have given to your friends, your family and yourself this year.  Remember that service can be recognised in the smallest gifts – and celebrating these encourages repetition and growth.

Perhaps you have taken time to tend your garden this year, growing vegetables and creating abundance.  Supporting your own environment, reducing the overall reliance on chemicals and intensive farming in the food industry.  Maybe you have cared for your family members, friends or community through the many challenges of the pandemic.  Notice also the vital ways you have been of service to yourself this year.  What changes have you implemented to nurture and support yourself, to invest in your own wellbeing?  Any gifts that you share with the world must equally nourish and support you, so that you can continue to be of service.

Celebrate these aspects of yourself!  These are the forms of resilience you’ve created, the gifts you’ve shared with others, and – importantly – the seeds you may choose to carry forward as you grow.

Autumn is the time for Discernment.  Having just passed the Equinox, you may find yourself increasingly drawn towards introspection and self-evaluation as the year wanes towards its close.  In its more destructive forms, this can be experienced as deep self-criticism and introversion.  A way to harness this energetic invitation is to notice your patterns with honesty and compassion.

Make a list of those things you want to celebrate about yourself.  And then celebrate them! In whichever ways you choose.  Enjoy the delicious food you’ve grown, share gratitudes with friends in your communities, exchange gifts and blessings with family members; dance, move, sing, eat cake…

And make another list of things you choose to release.  Those aspects of yourself that are not in alignment with your highest purpose, that are no longer in service to yourself or others.  Then burn that list (responsibly!) in a candle flame or seasonal bonfire.  You can do this ceremonially, alone or with others.  You can speak the words aloud, saying, “I choose to release …”, if you wish.

There’s power in these practices.  And aligning your actions with the seasonal energies helps give them an extra energetic boost.

How Luna Rhythms Yoga can support you during this Aries Full Moon:

At Luna Rhythms, our unique system of yoga integrated with the lunar cycles and solar seasons teaches techniques from the ancient yogic practices of asanapranayamamudrabandha and mantra in alignment with the energies of the day, season and cycle.  This Full Moon in Aries invites you to align the deepest wisdom of your heart with the crystal clarity of your mind.

Enjoy the peaceful liberation of Nirvana Mudra to connect your heart with your mind.  Extending your arms, cross one wrist over the other. Turn your palms in, thumbs down, and connect your fingertips and thumbs together. Spin your joined hands in towards your heart until your fingers point upward. Keep your thumbs side by side, with soft hands, and bow in until your eyebrow centre comes towards your fingers.  Breathe deeply and calmly here.  With this inverted prayer position, the deep wisdom of your heart flows out through your arms into your hands and fingertips to meet with the crystal clarity of your mind at your third-eye chakra.

When you are ready, release your hands and repeat with your wrists crossed the opposite way.

This Full Moon in Aries, take time to discern your unique gifts that bring you joy in being of service to others.  And choose to release all that no longer serves.

In love & service,

Diana
